What the district said

The analysis names Cambridge and Milton among five schools that kept graduation rates above 95% in every year from 2020 to 2026. The others are Chattahoochee, Johns Creek and Northview. It said Innovation Academy has stayed above 98% in each of its three reported years.

Alpharetta High, in Alpharetta, about six miles from Milton, had the district’s second-largest drop, 1.6 points. The district noted that Alpharetta remains above its 2020 rate of 96.5%.

How the rate works

Georgia uses the four-year adjusted cohort graduation rate. It follows students from ninth grade and adjusts the group as students transfer in or out. The rate is the share of that group earning a regular diploma within four years. It does not count students who finish in a fifth year.
