Pro soccer forward Jordynn Dudley, Hopewell coach Tim Cagle and longtime parks board chair Scott Stachowski joined Milton's Wall of Fame on Saturday.
Three new names went up on Milton’s Wall of Fame on Saturday. One is a professional soccer player who grew up playing in the city. The other two spent decades building its youth sports and parks.
The city held the ceremony late Saturday morning at Bell Memorial Park, where the wall stands along the path between the parking lot and the fields. The city described the day in a news release on Tuesday.
The 2026 honorees
- Tim Cagle, a Milton High and Piedmont College player who came home to coach Hopewell Baseball and serve as a league official
- Jordynn Dudley, a forward for Gotham FC in the National Women’s Soccer League, who played at Cambridge High
- Scott Stachowski, a former Hopewell Baseball president who served 15 years on the city’s Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, 10 of them as chair
A field that was once a schoolyard
Cagle remembered what the park looked like before the city expanded and renovated it. When he was a child in the late 1960s, the site was a school and its grounds. Its fields were already home to Hopewell Baseball, the city said.
That program still runs at the park today. On Saturday, Cagle urged families to sign their children up for recreational sports like Hopewell, the city said. He said children develop there both as athletes and as people.
Dudley’s father accepts for her
Dudley could not attend because Gotham FC is in the middle of its season. Her father, Donald Dudley, spoke for her and thanked the coaches, family and friends who helped her.
She is now 21, according to the city. Before turning pro, she played for:
- Cambridge High School in Milton
- the Georgia Rush and UFA soccer clubs
- Florida State, where she won a national championship
Donald Dudley said the family looks forward to giving back to the community that set her up to thrive, the city said.
A look ahead to Deerfield
Stachowski traveled up from Florida for the ceremony. He stepped down from the advisory board earlier this year.
He spoke about what comes next for Milton Parks and Recreation, including a planned new active park in Deerfield, the city said. He called the department’s volunteers its greatest asset: people who give their time because they see the value, not for a title.
What it means for you
- To see who else is on the wall, or to nominate someone for next year’s class, go to the city’s Wall of Fame page.
- To visit the wall, it sits on the walkway between the parking lot and the fields at Bell Memorial Park. The city lists its parks on its parks and facilities page.
- To sign a child up for a team, the city’s recreation programs are listed on its program registration page.
The ceremony came days after Milton Parks and Recreation was named District 7 Agency of the Year by the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association. Dudley’s high school has its own page in our Cambridge High guide, and our Deerfield neighborhood guide covers the area where the new park is planned.
